Why this guide is right for you

In a time when environmental responsibility is critical, the maritime industry stands at a pivotal crossroads.

Reducing maritime emissions is now an urgent priority for the sector as it faces increasing pressure to reduce its environmental footprint. Coupled with this is the energy transition which will increasingly have a significant impact on ports and the role of port authorities.

Embracing solutions to these issues is not just a matter of compliance; it’s a strategic move towards futureproofing port and harbour infrastructure.

The benefits:

Overcoming grid constraints with a more reliable future-built system.
Mitigate peak energy demand spikes and smooth out fluctuations.
Maximise self-consumption, gaining greater energy independence and efficiency.
A linchpin in the evolution of ship-to-shore operations, offering adaptability, reliability, and sustainability.

The energy world is changing. We're here to power the charge ahead.

We're world leaders in battery energy storage systems. By repurposing used electric vehicle battery packs, we create an energy storage system to help businesses manage their power more effectively. We work closely with EV charging companies and local authorities to provide additional support for EV charging infrastructure.

By installing Connected Energy’s battery energy storage systems, we can bring additional power onto the sites which helps us to move forward with the installation of high-powered charge points. The systems also support our wider net zero strategy to decarbonise our own workshop operations.

We wanted to make the best possible use of Clepington Road, which meant a charging hub for the council’s van fleet, but also a hub for public use. When developing infrastructure on this scale it was crucial that we included an element of renewable generation and energy storage. Our fleet includes emergency call-out vehicles, and it is essential that they are always fully charged. Battery energy storage provides the additional resilience that we need.
